Rev. Catherine Houchins has been involved with Metropolitan Community Churches for over 35 years. She began her MCC journey in New Life MCC in Norfolk, Virginia. There she became clergy in MCC. Ventura MCC was her first church to pastor. Later she returned to Virginia and began guest speaking at MCC of the Blue Ridge. In 1998 she was called as the pastor at MCCBR. In 2008 Catherine left Roanoke to pastor MCC Charlotte. In 2016 she retired from active ministry (or so she thought). After guest speaking for ten months, Catherine left retirement to be, again, the pastor of MCC of the Blue Ridge.
 

Catherine grew up in Christiansburg, Virginia and attended Bluefield College and Carson-Newman College. She has taken various other courses adding to her knowledge of the Bible. She enjoys life with Joanna and their puppy Rudy, aka Church Pup.

Rachel Carrick is an active member of the music community in the Roanoke Valley. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Music in 2016 and has been leading worship in multiple churches since 2010. Rachel enjoys teaching with her husband Jacob in their private piano studio.
