World Aids Day: A Day of Remembrance and Love
On December 1, we join communities around the world in remembering those we have lost to HIV/AIDS, supporting those living with HIV, and renewing our commitment to compassion and justice.

HIV/AIDS deeply affected the gay community in the United States, especially in the early years when stigma and fear were widespread. In that painful time, lesbians and queer women played a vital role as caregivers and advocates, offering presence, love, and courageous support when many others stepped away. Their compassion became a lifeline for countless gay men.
Today, we honor that history with reverence.
We remember the lives lost, the resilience of the LGBTQ+ community, and the caregivers who embodied radical love. As a church, we reaffirm our call to be a community of welcome, healing, and hope—reflecting Christ’s love without condition.

“If one part suffers, every part suffers with it.”
